This policy explains how student information is handled inside the Chennais Amirta student portal — used for admissions, academics, attendance, exam results, fees, hostel and placements.

By using the portal, you (and, for minors, your parent or guardian) consent to the practices described below, in addition to the general privacy policy for our website.

01.Information the student portal processes

  • Personal profile — name, date of birth, photograph, ID proof, address, guardian details and emergency contacts.
  • Academic data — programme, batch, timetables, assignments, internal assessments and exam results.
  • Attendance, hostel occupancy and leave records.
  • Fee payments, scholarships, refunds and outstanding balances.
  • Placement profile — resume, preferred cities, internship history and interview outcomes.
  • Portal usage logs, IP addresses and device information used to secure your account.

02.How we use your information

  • To deliver your academic programme — classes, exams, projects, internships and certification.
  • To communicate about attendance, results, fee dues, notices and campus events.
  • To coordinate placements, campus drives and internships with vetted recruiters.
  • To ensure student welfare — anti-ragging enforcement, health support and hostel safety.
  • To meet statutory and regulatory obligations of universities and boards we are affiliated with.

03.Sharing with third parties

  • Affiliating universities, exam boards and accreditation bodies for enrolment, exams and results.
  • Hiring partners — resumes are shared only for shortlisted candidates with your consent.
  • Payment gateways for secure fee collection.
  • Guardians / parents — for minors, and for adult students in matters of safety, welfare and fee updates.
  • Regulatory authorities when required by law.

04.Account security

Keep your login credentials confidential. Do not share your password with peers, family or agents. Any activity performed with your credentials is your responsibility. Report suspected misuse to studentcare@chennaisamirta.com immediately.

05.Photographs and media

Chennais Amirta may photograph or record classroom sessions, campus events and industrial visits for academic, quality and promotional purposes. If you would prefer not to be featured in public materials, please write to us and we will honour the request wherever practical.

06.Retention

Academic and fee records are retained for the duration of your programme and for the period required by regulators after graduation. Portal access is disabled after graduation or withdrawal, but core academic records are preserved as part of our official archive.

07.Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by raising a ticket in the portal or writing to studentcare@chennaisamirta.com. Deletion requests will be reviewed subject to regulatory and academic-record requirements.

08.Anti-ragging and safe use

The portal is a safe communication channel. Using it — or any personal data accessed through it — to intimidate, harass or shame another student will result in disciplinary action under our anti-ragging policy.
